Meet Your Coach

Hi, I’m Mike Nix.

I started my fitness journey back in 1997 with the hopes of becoming a pro natural bodybuilder. After several years of grinding and not getting the results I wanted, I hired my first coach and the results were unbelievable. It was during that time that I learned how powerful having a coach was to my progress, so I made it my mission to educate myself on proper training and nutrition principles so I could share it with the world.

In 2007 I entered my first bodybuilding competition achieving a 3rd place victory. I was proud of my accomplishment, but wanted more, so I went back to work building my physique, my coaching business, and my family (I’m a husband and father of five kiddos). I would go on to compete again in 2017, achieving second place and an overall Master’s Classic Physique title in 2019.  

I realized early on that I didn’t have the genetics to become a pro bodybuilder, but I didn’t compete for the trophies. I chose to compete because I knew the challenge of going through the process was going to lead to personal growth I couldn’t get otherwise. Through competition you get very familiar with who the fuck you are and how much you can tolerate. It builds grit and resilience. Things money can’t buy.

DVNT (deviant) Muscle & Fitness was born out of my desire to build strong, powerful men that are capable of facing all of life’s challenges head-on as they get older. By using a combination of strength training, aerobic conditioning, and nutrition, I have built a system guaranteed to make you look great and be able to perform at a high level in every area of your life.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my site. It’s time to deviate from all the myths and flat-out bullshit you’ve been exposed to, and focus on what really drives results. Disciplined Vision and Never ending Tenacity.
